Yes, this life of mine (at least the creative part) is one huge fustercluck. That’s why I went with this name for my (as-yet-to-launch-after-2+-years) comic.

A whole pile of excuses has been built and made and built over again, and still, I have nothing really to show here.

In October 2010, I tried to participate in 24-Hour Comics Day, and I thought I had decided at that point to retire fustercluck, along with every character that I’d conceived in the past 20 years. “Too much emotional baggage,” I thought. I needed a fresh start.

So, I came up with a concept called Myths, Taken. I came up with a couple of decent character designs, but that was about it. In November, I decided to participate in the 30 Character Challenge. As of the 22nd, I’ve submitted five. But at least that’s progress.

Still a fustercluck, though. So I think I’m going to stick with that. It’s all-encompassing, and it can exist while I’m still trying to find my feet with this thing.

So, I’m going to try to get this thing configured and see how it goes. I’m not setting any expectations for myself for now, but I want to have some place I can just post to when the urge strikes. Let’s hope it’s more often than not.
